Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archives, 1993-current.

Currently contains 60 videotapes of Washington-area theater and dance stage performances. Productions are generally world or Washington-area premieres, rarely performed, or in some way exceptional. Performances are continually being taped and added to WAPAVA. The Archives also contains theater programs, press releases, and publicity for each taped performance.

The Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archives (WAPAVA) was established to create and preserve a videotape collection of significant Washington-area stage performances, including theater, dance, opera, mime, and storytelling. WAPAVA is one of only four public archives of theater and other performing arts in the country. The Washingtoniana Division, D.C. Community Archives is the official repository of the collection.
